Q: What is Strip Tease Dance & Workout Class?
A: Each class begins with a warm up and stretch session. We both warm the muscles and learn steps for the routine. We teach several routines that build in difficulty and help prepare for future classes and routines. At the end of each class we do some interesting crunches.
A: Yes! The Best part about the new studio is new poles! There are regular studio/burlesque styled classes and a wide variety of classes to help you learn to work the pole. Check the Schedule page for dates and times of the Pole Workshops.
Q: Who can come to Strip Tease Dance Class?
A: Any woman over the age of 18, and in good health. This is an excercise class and therefore helps to increase weight loss and muscle toning. However, this is not a weight loss program and any program should be done under the care of a specialist. I am not a specialist.
A: We recommend wearing yoga pants or comfortable workout pants. A tank top or sports bra and comfortable shirt or tank over to "strip" off during the routine. We do discuss outfits and sometimes wear skirts, button down shirts etc. to class to practice. It is always a good idea to bring heels, although we do not wear them for every routine or every month. We do request that if you are taking a Pole Class or Workshop that you do NOT wear lotion or oils on your skin.
Q: What should I bring to class?
A: Bring yourself, a yoga mat or exercise mat, a bottle of water and a friend. If you do not have a mat, We have extras that are first come first serve. Bring your heels, there is a good chance we will be practicing walking in them. Please DO NOT bring children. The only thing we can really say is this is not PG. We are not N-17 either, but this class is not appropriate for kids. They should stay at home with Dad or Grandma.
Q: How long does a class last?
A: Most classes lasts 55-60 minutes. Each Strip to Fit routine takes a month to master. New routines start at the beginning of every month. Please check the Schedule page for more details on classes.
Q: How much does a class cost?
A: Classes are $20 for single classes, and $75 a month. Check out the Prices & Specials page for more details.
Q: How do I register for classes?
A: You can call (386-3245) or email rachael@striptofit.net or purchase your classes on line on the Prices & Specials page. Any of those will reserve your space in the class of your choice. We will need your name, email or phone number to hold your space.
A: Some times people are not comfortable with others watching them learn a new dance. We generally discourage watching participants, and We promise you will have more fun if you join in.
Q: Where did you learn to do this?
A: I (Rachael) took 13 years of classical ballet; I have been practicing yoga for the last years. Over that time I grasp the sexiness of the basic stretch. When I realized this is the same stuff I have been using to stretch myself I could really share it with people. I have been in the clubs but I have never been a stripper. The moves are a great workout in the way a woman's body naturally wants to move. This style of dance is a great workout, but not a great strain on the body. My years as a dancer, and learning to work to the strengths of my body give me a wealth of experience that moves classes along effectively. We get the best workout and learn the best routines, in the meantime. I get tired of the same routines after a while so I choreograph a new routine every 4 weeks.
